A parallel scripture confirming the above is also given by Jesus in John 11:25 &26 which says:
This scripture differentiates between those who die in Christ before His return (he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies) by being in heaven while those (everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die) referring to those who will be alive at His coming for the Rapture of His church. This scripture is very defining in this aspect.
One of the most explicit promises given in the Bible proving that the children of God would never have to go through a period of God’s wrath is seen in the book of Genesis. It is one of the greatest examples given in the Old Testament of a type and form of the Rapture to come as Lot and his family are spared the wrath of God which He executes upon the cities of Sodom and Gemorrah. It is often said that the Old Testament is a foreshadowing of the New Testament, therefore this example is considered an anti-type of the Rapture. Let’s take a look at this wonderful example.
Lot, the nephew of Abraham, and his family moved to Sodom because they ran out of grazing land when Abraham and Lot lived in the same area. Later in time, God saw that the sins of Sodom and Gemorrah were great and informed Abraham about the eventual destruction of the two cities. Remembering that his nephew Lot lived in the area, Abraham asked God if He would spare any city from destruction, starting from 50 people and ending up with only 10 individuals. God said he would not destroy Sodom or Gemorrah (or any city) if no more than 10 righteous men and women lived therein. This confirmed Abraham’s statement of faith even before he began asking God if He would spare any city from destruction if its inhabitants were found righteous!
As the sins of the two cities became too great to bear, God sent two angels to take Lot and his family out of Sodom. That night, as the two angels were invited to spend the night at Lot’s house, homosexual men from Sodom came to demand the angels, whom they thought were ordinary men, for homosexual service. Lot asked that they be spared to the point of even offering his two virgin daughters to them. In anger, they lounged forward to take Lot and the visitors when in the nick of time, the angels pulled Lot back and shut the door. To prevent the Sodomites from breaking through the door, the angels had to smote the Sodomites with blindness. That night, the angels told Lot to warn his immediate family members to leave Sodom because God was going to destroy the city the next morning. Sadly, his sons-in-law mocked Lot at the mere suggestion that such a thing would happen. Because Lot lingered in the city from departing, the angels forcibly took hold of Lot, his wife and two daughters to get them out of the city in time. Then God destroyed Sodom and Gemorrah with fire and brimstone. Today, Sodom and Gemorrah have been found in the area near the Dead Sea (read about the amazing discovery of Sodom and Gemorrah in Amazing Evidence, available at www.AmazingEvidence.org). For emphasis, it should be noted that the angels forcibly took Lot and his family out of the area where God was going to deliver His wrath and judgment, a clear example of an Old Testament form and type of the Rapture.
Additional biblical evidence for the Rapture is also seen in Genesis 5:24, when Moses writes that, “Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” in the genealogy given in chapter 5 of Genesis. Moses writes of the descendants who lived in that time period and specifically uses the word “died” for every individual that did actually die. Yet, Enoch did not die because God took him, which can only mean he was Raptured. This is also confirmed in Hebrews 11:5; “By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.” This is direct proof that precedence for the Rapture exists, especially for those who are found righteous and pleasing to God.
We are also told in II Kings 2:11-13 that Elijah the Prophet was taken up to heaven in a chariot indicating that he too was Raptured. For this reason, the two witnesses spoken of in Revelation who prophecy during the Great Tribulation may possibly be Enoch and Elijah. The biblical logic of this derives itself from Hebrews 9: 27 which states, “it is appointed unto a man to die once and after this comes the judgment”. Since these patriarchs did not die, it is believed they will be brought back and unfortunately slain by the Antichrist during Tribulation, fulfilling the biblical requirement of man having to die once. This brings us to one of the most highly debated questions about the Rapture and why many Godly men and women believe that all Christians must go through some or the entire Tribulation period. The reason why these brothers and sisters in Christ believe in post-Tribulation Rapture is based on Hebrews 9:27, which states we must all die a physical death once in our earthly life. If this be the case, then the Rapture of the church cannot exist since Paul’s statement about those remaining who are alive at the Lord’s coming conflicts directly with Hebrews 9:27, that is, there cannot be any alive when the Rapture occurs. For if we are Raptured and will always be with the Lord as given by Paul, when will the Raptured die? Also, many believers and non-believers alike assume there will be only one major apocalypse (known to most as Armageddon) that will bring forth a large number of deaths. Actually, most of the deaths will take place before the conflict of Armageddon during the Tribulation. Calamities and catastrophes leading to immediate and eventual death via nuclear war, radioactive fallout, conventional wars, earthquakes, pestilences, famines, plagues, and executions will comprise most of the worldwide deaths that occur during the 7 year period of Tribulation. This is significant. The book of Revelation estimates 3/4 of the world’s population will succumb during the period of Tribulation! What these dear saints fail to recognize is that by being “born again” into Christ, we have a new birth in Christ and are considered new creatures as the old things have passed away (II Corinthians 5:17). In fact, II Corinthians 5: 14 states we have already died!
What bounty we have in Christ, who died for our sins and giving us new birth in Him because He considers us crucified and buried with Him by baptism (Galatians 2:20 and Colossians 2:12). Therefore we have fulfilled the scriptural and legal requirements of having died the first death, so that by being born - again, we have been made new creatures in Christ by our rebirth in Him. This gives absolute legal precedence for born-again Christians to be Raptured! Also, there are those who believe that we shall have to go through part or all of Tribulation simply because the early church had to go through terrible persecution. Few realize (including western world Christians) that the body of Christ today is going through a period of severe persecution. It’s reported that in the last century (1900 -2000) more Christians were martyred than throughout the previous 19 centuries from the time of Jesus. Currently, David Barrett from Voice of the Martyrs reports approximately 160,000-175,000 Christians are being martyred annually throughout the world (most recent figures reported in 2006).
There are many facts one can use to point to the reasons Christians will not go through Tribulation. One of the most powerful arguments one can use in believing that the true Church of Jesus Christ will not go through Tribulation is made evident by the vision John the Apostle wrote down in the book known as Revelation. Not once is the church mentioned in the description given of Tribulation as revealed in Revelation. If this world is going to experience its ultimate demise at Armageddon as given in Revelation and the Church of Jesus Christ is to be involved up to that point, certainly would we not read about the churches involvement in the very book that was written specifically for believers? There is no rationality or logic if this were not the case. This argument is supported by three very powerful scriptures that Paul the Apostle gives to the Corinthian, Ephesian and Thessalonica churches. To the church at Ephesus, Paul writes the very reason why the church exists and is considered a mystery to many.
This scripture therefore tells us that the church was to become the communicator of the manifold wisdom of God (the Trinity) to be expressed for and by the Gentiles during a specific period of time called an administration (dispensation). Secondarily, the church was manifested as an agent for the Lord not only to affect the earth, but all heavenly places such as the kingdom of Satan which exists in the second heaven, to the fullness of time as given in Ephesians 1:10. After the fulfillment of this administration, Paul tells the church the promise of immeasurable hope we have in Christ as a witness and confirmation of I Thessalonians 4:13-18 (given earlier) which defines the Rapture of the Church and is shown to be true and bolstered by the following scripture.
According to the Talmud, Rosh Hashanah 16b, the resurrection of the dead will occur on Yom haDin (the Day of Judgment), also known as Rosh Hashanah which is the Jewish day of the New Year. From very ancient times, the resurrection of the dead as understood by the Jews has been associated with Rosh Hashanah. In Judaism there are three recognized shofarim or ram’s horn trumpet’s. In the Jewish perspective, the shofarim will be blown a total of three times until the day of Messiah’s kingship is established upon earth. The first shofarim relates to the rams left horn and was blown when Moses was told to gather the Hebrews to Mt. Sinai as given in Exodus 19:13 for Jehovah to visit them. The second shofarim, the right rams horn, will be blown on Rosh Hashanah and is identified as the last trump. Paul states in I Corinthians 15:52, as given earlier, that, “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we (who are alive) shall be changed.” This will bring all believers to meet Jesus Christ in the air and announce to the world the coming of the Messiah. Archeologists are discovering Jewish tombstones with shofarim (rams horns) etched upon them, indicating their belief in a resurrection of the dead with the blowing of the shofar (trumpet). The third shofarim will be blown at the conclusion of Yom Kippur (day of atonement) and is known as the Great Shofar, or great trump which follows the last trump as identified by Paul.
Note the difference between the last trump of Rosh Hashanah, where the dead are resurrected and the believers are caught away, and that of the Great Shofar of Yom Kippur, where those who have become believers during the Tribulation are gathered from the four corners of the earth. The blowing of the Great Shofar concludes the final ingathering of the exiles (i.e. Tribulation saints) who remain on earth at the Messiah’s literal second coming (to earth, not in the air) directly following the Tribulation.
Also, in the Revelation given to John the Apostle, the Lord Jesus tells John to write specific instructions, visions and concerns as given in the following scripture,
Initially, John is instructed to write down those things which he (John) has historically seen prior to the writing of Revelation. This would include John seeing Jesus and all events and important historical milestones that the Lord wishes John to commit to writing for history’s sake as given in the Gospel of John and the two epistles, 1 and 2 John, found in the New Testament. John is also told to write the things which are. This would relate to Chapter 2 and 3 of Revelation which specifically speaks of the seven churches in Asia Minor that Paul was instrumental in beginning thorough Jesus. All of these seven churches with the exception of the church of Philadelphia had a shortcoming that Jesus wanted them to correct. Jesus gave to John the corrective measures that would be needed for the churches and individuals that comprised them so they would not have their names erased from the book of life (note that it is possible to have ones name erased from the book of life, thereby nullifying the belief of, “once saved always saved”) as given in Rev. 3:5.
A few years ago the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me and stated that the seven churches spoken of in Chapters 2 and 3 in Revelation (the churches at Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea) is a description of the condition of all churches that have existed from that day John was given the Revelation to this day. In other words, it is the condition of all churches that have ever existed and still exist during this Age of Grace or the Church Age. If this be true, then observe the following scriptures.
My interpretation of these scriptures in light of what the Spirit of the Lord spoke would indicate that the true church of Jesus Christ and the people that comprise them (i.e. body of Christ who follow His commandments and love the Lord with all their hearts, soul and mind) will be spared that hour of testing, which I believe refers to the time of Tribulation, certainly Great Tribulation which is known as the last 3-1/2 years of Tribulation as given in Rev. 2:22. The hour of testing as described above (Rev. 3:10) concerns all the inhabitants of the earth and not just the six churches Jesus pronounces warnings to. Again, please note that only the church of Philadelphia was considered righteous enough to be deemed free from the hour of testing as so stated in Rev 3:10. Although each church in Asia Minor went through satanic trial and tribulation (persecution, apostasy, individual sin, etc.), this scripture does not imply that the whole earth and those who dwell therein have already gone through Tribulation, which would be the hour of testing for the entire world. It is well understood that the period of Tribulation for the whole world has not yet taken place. If it has, then Jesus would be the world’s King today. Therefore, it is evident from the scriptures that those who are found worthy in Christ will be spared Tribulation, certainly Great Tribulation, when the full cup of God wrath is unleashed upon the earth as never before. And those who are spared will be saved by the event known as the Rapture as expressed in 1 Thess. 1:9, “….They (believers in Macedonia and Achaia) tell how you (the congregation at Thessalonica) turned to God from idols to serve the living an true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead – Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath (of God).
Finally, Revelation 4:1 speaks specifically of the angel telling John to come up (in the spirit) to heaven to see the events of Tribulation unfold. The angel states, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.” The words used by the angel, “after these things” refers specifically to those things which Christ was speaking to John that which would happen after the seven churches in the previous chapter found in Rev. 1: 1-3. In other words, a break occurs between Christ speaking to John about the churches and the angel speaking to John about things relating to the Tribulation as expressed at the beginning of Chapter 4. The statement, “After these things” has been interpreted to mean the events which will take place after the events that apply to the churches. If so, this can only relate to that hour of testing, the Tribulation, which chapters 4-20 in Revelation describe in minutia. Therefore, the Revelation as given to John regarding the 7 churches Jesus speaks about is a warning to all churches and the world that which will befall them if they fail to keep the Lord’s commandments. And that simply is…..
Again, it is my belief that the Revelation as given to John the Apostle is a warning to all churches (i.e. body of Christ) for the sake of avoiding the Tribulation. If we are fully committed to Jesus, keep His commandments and love Him, the Father and Holy Spirit with all our heart, body and mind, we shall be spared the wrath of God as the Tribulation so engenders.
Last but not least, Paul tells us the season when the coming of the Lord will occur and that we, the Church, will not be in darkness, that the day should overtake us as a thief (1 Thess. 5:4). Although no one will know the exact day or hour when Jesus will come for His body of believers, 1 Thessalonians 5:4 specifically states the church will not be in darkness to the season of its occurrence. Let this be a warning to all who may be influenced by those who set dates. Only God knows the exact day when Jesus will come, as it is fixed by the Father alone. Neither men, nor angels or even Jesus Himself knows the exact date as given in Matthew 24:36 as He Himself as so said. Therefore, let us be wary and avoid the influence of individuals who say they represent the Church or for that matter, cults, who have been known to fix specific dates. For example, cults such as the Jehovah Witnesses, Mormon church, and others have predicted exact dates of the Lord’s return on numerous occasions and obviously have been wrong every time, thereby discrediting not only themselves but the name and Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sadly, even those who say they represent the true church have falsely predicted the day of the Lord. In Old Testament times, false prophets such as this would be stoned to death under the law of Moses. Similarly, Jesus warns all not to believe or follow false Christs that will appear in the last days, for He will not be found in the wilderness, in the White House, the Vatican, or even in the rebuilt future Temple in Jerusalem as some will declare and believe. His Coming to earth will be upon a white horse with the armies of heaven following Him on white horses (Rev. 19:11-14). And as lightening comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be (Matthew 24: 27). But, on the other hand, the true Church of Jesus Christ will be informed of the season when the Rapture will occur by the following admonition by Paul...
We read that the man of lawlessness spoken of here is the final and ultimate Antichrist, who deceives the whole world, for many will believe him to be the real Christ. This can only be, for He could not be called the Antichrist if He did not appear to be as a Christ or have the power to “mislead, if possible, even the elect.” (Matthew 24:24). And “he” who restrains is most often identified as the Holy Spirit, the emissary of the spirit of Christ upon the whole world during the administration/dispensation of the Church Age. Due to the fact that the bible tells us that born-again Christians are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, then it makes logical and spiritual sense that when he (the Holy Spirit is gendered as masculine) is “taken out of the way”, the body of Christ which represents the Lord’s true church will be removed or Raptured. And when the fullness of the Gentiles has come (this means all true believers in Jesus Christ), then will all Israel be saved in the last week constituting the last 7 years. This is so well introduced in the book of Daniel which describes the fulfillment of Daniel’s 70 weeks and so well dovetails with the vision given to John the Apostle which explains the events that take place in the Tribulation as found in the book of Revelation.
Here again we see incredible proof for the Rapture. The above scripture points out that Jesus will come upon the clouds as repeated in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (in reference to His coming upon the clouds). However, Rev. 19: 11-14 as previously given points out that Jesus will come with the armies of heaven to make war with the beast (the antichrist) and his armies in the final battle for world supremacy. This battle, in addition to the battle at Armageddon and that waged in Jerusalem, involves not only real physical battles but also a very spiritual one. Once Jesus has victored in these battles with the armies of heaven, He will then set up His earthly kingdom by appearing to all in a cloud as given in the following verses. However, in this second appearing "on the clouds of the sky", consider what follows.......
Although Jesus does come upon the clouds when He returns to earth to set up the Millennial Kingdom, there is a significant difference in how the elect are gathered to Him after the Tribulation. Upon Jesus’ return, He will send forth His angels to gather His elect. However, in the Rapture, Paul specifically states that the bodies of those in the graves (i.e. tombs) will rise to first meet the Lord in the air (also on the clouds) and we who remain will also rise to meet them and the Lord almost immediately afterwards. There can be no question that these two events are totally separate and distinct. When the church is Raptured, we will rise without angelic help to meet Jesus in the clouds whereas when Jesus comes back in His second advent, He will have His angels gather the remaining elect who survive the Tribulation to bring them to Jerusalem so they and all the saints who have been previously Raptured or Resurrected (the Old Testament saints who walked the streets of Jerusalem immediately after Jesus' resurrection) will partake in the grand event of having Jesus be coronated as King of the whole earth to usher in the Millenium. And what a grand event it will be.
Let us wrap up precedence for the Rapture by the following examples and proofs…...
1.)Enoch and Elijah were Raptured out from this earth, giving direct biblical proof and precedence for the existence of the Rapture. Finally, we have the resurrecton and subsequent Rapture of the Old Testament saints (see Matt 27:51-53). 2.)Lot and his family were taken out of the city of Sodom before its destruction by God’s angels as given in Luke 17:29, “but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.” Note that Lot was taken out before Sodom was destroyed which is a form and type of the pre-wrath Rapture of the church. 3.)Acts 8:39 describes a form of the Rapture of the disciple Philip immediately after he baptized the eunuch on the desert road going to Gaza from Jerusalem. The Greek word “harpazo” is used to describe this “seizing, catching away, pluck, or to be taken by force” as Phillip found himself translated (raptured) to the town of Azotus. However, he was returned to his earthly state when he arrived in Azotus. Such an event would be termed a "translation".
The word, “harpazo” is a Greek word that is translated “caught” in the King James Version of the bible. According to Vincent’s commentary, it means, “by a swift, resistless, divine energy and in Vine’s Expository of New Testament Words, it means “snatched for forceful seizure”. It is also used in II Cor. 12:4 where Paul describes a man he once knew who was caught up to heaven as given in the introductory scripture verse in this chapter and finally in 1 Thessalonians 4:17, which has been given before and is a direct scripture promise for the Rapture. Remember, one doesn’t have to die to be Raptured.
4.)Kenneth Wuest, a noted Greek scholar, believes that the word “apostasy” as given in II Thessalonians 2:3 has been mistranslated and improperly referred to as “a falling away or rebellion” from the Greek word “apostasia”, which many believe relates to the falling away of the church or faith in Jesus immediately prior to the coming of the Antichrist. He believes it should be translated “a departure”, since its root verb “aphistemi” means departing from a person or place and is used as such eleven times out of fifteen in the New Testament. Dr. E. Schuyler English also believes the rendering of this word should mean departure. Given the context of the use of this word in relationship to the subject matter and the Greek word “harpazo”, the proper usage of this word relates to a departure of the saints from the earth and a "coming together of the congregation", or "assembly" to meet the Lord Jesus in the air. Besides Wuest and Schuyler taking a position that "apostasia" means “departure” in the context of Paul’s explaination of the Rapture, Tyndale in his rendering of the Bible from Greek to English used the word “departure” as well. Not only that, but numerous 15th century bibles such as the Geneva and Great Bible use the word “departure” in their translation of the Greek word “apostasia”. Here again, definitive commentary supports the Rapture.
It is also interesting to note that the Hebrew equivalent to “harpazo” is “natzal”, which in its root form means to deliver. A derivative of natzal is metzal, which means to pluck away, or a radical departure. Also, the Greek word “episunagoge” as used in 2 Thessalonians 2: 1 for the gathering refers to a congregation or assembly. Finally, the Jewish festival of Yom HaKeseh portrays the concealment of believers from the effects of the wrath of God to come during the Tribulation. For this very reason, the name Yom HaKeseh means "The Day of Concealment" in Hebrew.
5.) God raises 144,000 Jewish witnesses who are sealed by God to evangelize the earth for the sake of Christ during the Tribulation. Why would God specifically raise and seal them if the church still existed to promote Christ as she does now? And why would the Lord seal the 144,000 Jewish saints and not the body of Christ (i.e. church) if the Church is still on earth? God is not a respecter of persons as given in Acts 10:34 is He?
6) Symbolism of a Jewish Wedding to the Rapture: One of the most powerful biblical examples that alludes to an intimation of the Rapture is the celebration of an Old Testament Jewish Wedding. In fact, the format and traditions of a Jewish Wedding has been adopted by most civilizations, going back thousands of years ago and is for the most part practiced even to this day. As one looks at the essence of such a marriage, there is little doubt that the ancient Jewish marriage ritual is a prophetic sign for the bride of Christ, the church, for the Rapture. What a powerful sign will be broadcast when the Lord comes in the clouds of the air and calls for His bride. When He does, we will go to meet Him, just as a bride in a wedding ceremony procession is led to the groom in an earthly wedding to be bonded “until death do we part”. And we too shall forever be with the Lord! Oh Hallelujah!! What a glorious day to look forward to!!! Let’s review the Jewish marriage customs and look at the prophetic implications.
When a young man was ready to be married, usually the parents made the decision as to which young woman would be his bride (Matt: 22:2). Although our culture shuns “forced” pairing, many older world cultures still employ this tradition today. Nonetheless, even in our culture it is expected that families will approve of our mates choice, for a modern wedding still asks the father of the bride if he agrees to give his daughter over to be lawfully wedded to the groom. Isn’t interesting that Jesus, the bridegroom and son of God, first loved us and chose us (1 John 4:19)? During the days of the Bible, it was customary for the parent of the prospective bridegroom to negotiate with the father of the young woman to determine the price that he must pay to purchase the bride. Once the bridegroom's father paid the purchase price (called the “mohar” in Hebrew), the marriage covenant was established. As a symbol of the covenant relationship, the prospective groom and bride would drink from a cup of wine over which a betrothal benediction was pronounced. We certainly know that Jesus paid the ultimate price for us becoming His bride. It was by His sacrificial death on the Cross at Calvary by the shedding of His blood (1 Cor 6:20). And today, we show our commitment to Him by having communion on a regular basis symbolized by eating the bread and drinking from a cup of wine. (Matt 26: 27-28). The similarity is striking.
From that day, the couple were considered husband and wife in the Jewish tradition. At that point, the two were betrothed to each other and thus the marriage covenant was established where the bride was considered consecrated to the groom (remember a price was paid). In today’s modern marriage, we would regard this as the engagement period.
After the marriage covenant was established, the groom would leave the home of the bride and return to his father’s house. There he would remain separated from his bride for a period of several days, weeks, or even months. During this time, the bride would prepare herself for the wedding ceremony and the groom would prepare the bridal chamber (called a “huppah” in Hebrew) where he would eventually bring his bride to consummate the marriage.
When it was time for the groom to take the bride away, he would take an entourage of his best men and other groomsmen and conduct a torch-lit procession to the home of the bride at night. Although the bride did not know the exact hour of the groom’s arrival, she was aware of the “day” of his arrival (Matt 25:5). Because she did not know the exact time, the groom’s arrival would be preceded with a shout (Matt 25: 6). This shout would forewarn the bride to be prepared for his coming any second (Matt: 25:10). After the groom received his bride, they returned to his father’s house where the enlarged wedding party congregated. During this time, the bride remained veiled so no one could see her face and the bride and groom entered the bridal chamber to consummate the marriage. Once the marriage was consummated, the wedding guests would hold the marriage feast for the next seven days. In the Jewish tradition, this was called the “Seven Days of the Huppah”, and at times the bride remained hidden in the bridal chamber. In our modern marriage ceremony, this would be the celebration of the honeymoon and in a sense the couple are hidden away (usually at some vacation resort).
At the conclusion of the seven feast days, the groom would bring his bride out of the bridal chamber with her veil removed so all could see who the bride was. And thus, the Jewish wedding is concluded.
The symbolism shown of a Jewish wedding ceremony in relation to the Rapture is so evident. Let’s analyze the most significant points. First, we know the bride in the Jewish wedding is an example of the bride represented by the Church. Jesus, the groom of the church, has paid the price for His bride with His precious blood. The marriage covenant expressed through Jesus is ratified via the New Covenant. Each and every true believer of Jesus Christ comprises His body, and we are His. While we wait for the ultimate consummation, which is our catching away to the bridal chamber which He has already prepared (John 14:2-3), it is expected that we keep ourselves pure and chaste, which is our expected part of preparation for the marriage unto Him (2 Cor 11:2). Then, on a day which we are not ignorant of (1 Thess 5:4), Jesus will come upon the clouds of our atmosphere and call us up with a shout, the shout of the archangel and trumpet of God (1 Thess 4:16), and will rise to meet the Lord in the air, which is the Rapture. Then we will go into the bridal chamber, which is in heaven, and be with the Lord 7 years as is symbolized by the “Seven Days of Huppah”. Here we have direct evidence of the hiding of the bride during the seven years the earth will experience Tribulation, giving strong evidence for the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. This is clear proof that the church is not appointed unto wrath, specifically expressed by Paul in his letter to the church in Thessalonica (1 Thess 5: 9). It could not be made any more clear than this. And truly, what a blessed hope we have with this intimation. 1
7) When the abomination of desolation comes into Jerusalem (see Matt 24: 15-22), Jesus warns those who are in Jerusalem and the vicinity most likely to see warfare (Jerusalem, Armageddon, etc.) to flee into the mountains, even away from the desert area of Judea. He specifically advises those to pray that their flight will not be either in winter or the Sabbath. It is very evident that Jesus is referring to the rabbinical law of not traveling more than 2,000 cubits ( about ½ mile) on the Sabbath day which specifically relates to Jews, not Christians. Therefore, this scripture lends additional weight to the contention that Christians will not be around at the time due to the fact they have been Raptured. Christians do not need to exercise the law of the Sabbath as indicated here.
8.) I Thessalonians 5:9 specifically states that, “For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Yet, chapters 4-20 in Revelation makes specific reference to God inducing His wrath upon earth as never before. The word “wrath” is mentioned a total of thirteen times in Revelation, chapters 4-20. What purpose does the Rapture serve if we go through the entire period of Tribulation which is the day of God’s wrath upon the earth and its Godless inhabitants? It makes absolutely no sense for the Rapture to occur at the conclusion of Tribulation. If one believes in the Rapture, what purpose does it serve if millions upon millions of Christians die either because of God’s wrath or execution by the Antichrist? Does one consider this being spared the wrath of God to come? If we are to go through the entire Tribulation, how does one reconcile God’s promise of being spared God’s wrath as given in 1 Thess. 5:9? And what church, known as the body of Christ, is going to be spared that hour of testing if the Lord’s coming is but a few seconds, hours or days away from the Lord’s setting up His Kingship? If one believes in post-Tribulation Rapture, then for all practical purposes you cannot believe in the Rapture because both the saints and wicked will be doomed to the worst era that this world will ever experience as expressed in Matt 24: 21,22.
9.) Noah and his family were found to be righteous and became the only family that would be spared the devastating flood. The preservation of Noah and his family (his wife with his three sons and their wives) from the catastrophic flood is a symbol of the Rapture. As Matt. 24: 42 states, “as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” In the days of Noah, the world and it’s inhabitant’s were inclined to do evil continuously as given in Genesis 6: 12:, “So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch (See www.AmazingEvidence.org for proof that Noah Ark has been found). Yet Noah and his household were kept from the flood as given in Genesis 7:1 because, “Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.”
10) Many Christians believe that Jesus will only return when the Gospel has been preached throughout the earth as given in Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached to the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” First of all, one could argue that with the technology that exists today, the gospel has been made available throughout the earth for all to hear in our generation. For example, we have television, radio and the world wide web that has circumvented the entire globe with the gospel. Moreover, the gospel has been presented “in person” to a large majority of earth’s population in these last days by dedicated missionaries and evangelists. However, is it absolutely necessary for every human being who lives on earth to be presented the gospel in his/her lifetime before the Rapture can take place? Many believe so. I believe the answer to this question is found in Revelation 14:6 and provides powerful proof that the church does not have to “preach” the gospel to the whole earth before either the Rapture or the coming of Jesus as the end of the age takes place (specifically involving humans as the following scripture gives support towards) .
This is our answer. Yes, the gospel will be preached to the whole of God’s creation before Jesus can come back. But as Rev. 14: 6 specifically states, it is fulfilled by an angel, who does so as part of completing the last trumpet judgment. Therefore, we again have powerful evidence that the church can be Raptured prior to the second coming of Jesus, and could well take place at any time, even before the onset of the seven year period of Tribulation.
11) Orthodox Judism considers Rosh Hashanah, typically celebrated as the Jewish New Year, by its more religious meaning identified as “Awesome Days” or “Yamin Noraim” as it’s known in Hebrew. Actually, the entire 10 days between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur are to be celebrated in trepidation, humility, reflection and repentance. Why? Because Yom Kippur, the last day, is considered to be a day of final judgment. Rabbi Yosef Stern writes in his book, Days of Awe, “As it is well known, the righteous are written in the Book of Life on Rosh HaShanah. These worthy individuals can be vindicated on the basis of their own merit, they do not need to be saved. It is the intermediate category, the individuals who are neither totally virtuous nor totally evil, who are saved on Yom Kippur.” It is understood by Gentile and Messianic believers that it is not on their “own merits” they are saved, but by the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Only in Him could they ever be made perfect.
One book not mentioned by Rabbi Stern but is well recognized by the Jewish community is the Book of Death in which sinners (the totally evil ones Rabbi Stern refers to) are sealed. It is understood their fate is destined for Hades, Gehenna, Sheol or our equivalent of Hell. Therefore, in some future day of Rosh HaShanah, God will take three books, a Book of Life into which the saints are written, The Book of Death into which the sinners are sealed and a third book into which the people who are not perfectly good nor completely bad are written. The rabbis believe the third group of people are comprised of Jews – the house of Israel. Stern confirms this notion when he writes, “Whereas Rosh HaShanah is a day of judgment for all mankind, Yom Kippor’s atonement is reserved for the Jewish people.”
Incredibly, we can conclude that before the day of judgment, for those written in the Book of Life, the saints are the group that will be spared the wrath of God’s judgment. It is for this reason many Messianic rabbis (rabbis who believe in Jesus) believe the body of Christ will be Raptured during the last trumpet blast of Rosh HaShanah. This is understandable, as Rosh HaShanah is observed as the birthday of the world, the day it was born in God’s creative Glory. It stands to reason that God will begin to judge the world on that day immediately following that specific trumpet blast. Finally, observant Jews realize the importance of the “Days of Awe” in the sober reality that some soon coming day, the Messiah will come on the day of atonement, which of course is Yom Kippor. Christians can understand that this would well be the literal day Jesus comes to earth in His second advent. 2
12.) After Jesus answers the disciples questions on Mt. Olive regarding the sign(s) of His coming and the end of the age, He warns all readers with these extremely notable words given in Luke 21:36…
In this passage, Jesus warns all to watch (for His coming) and pray always (to be in constant communion-relationship) with Him to escape “all these things that will come to pass” which unquestionably refers to the time of Tribulation. There cannot be any question that this would not refer to any other matter except escaping the Great Tribulation on a maximal level, and the whole of Tribulation on a minimal level.
Therefore, we find that the Rapture can occur at any time prior to the advent of Great Tribulation, the moment the Antichrist enters and defiles the third rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem. For this reason, it is possible that all Christians could be Raptured tomorrow. Thankfully, whether you believe in the Rapture or not or even the time of its occurrence is not important to being Raptured and meeting Christ. All who have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior will be “caught up” to meet Him in the air at that appointed time. For it will be His time and not that of our own choosing. Ultimately, accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the only important facet to becoming saved from the eternal wrath of Hell as administered by Satan.
I personally believe that the world will try to explain the disappearance of Christians by their abduction through aliens or the god of the New Age. Many New Agers speak of a rapture occurring as well, only of those who oppose their lord, whom they call Lord Maiytaira. Thus, it is presumed that Christians among other groups will be taken out of the earth before their Lord Maiytaira can come. No doubt, when the true Rapture of the saints does take place, New Agers and alike will then celebrate because the way has been paved for their lord to come! Of course, we know who their lord will truly be, none other then the false one – the Antichrist!
Respective of explaining the disappearance of Christians via alien abduction, numerous magazines and a number of recent movies such as Millennium and Fire In the Sky, to mention a few, describe this very thing. Fire In the Sky, slated as a true story, is a perfect example of how the world can be potentially convinced that the disappearance of a large number of Christians has occured by alien forces. When this disappearance actually takes place, the only evidence that will be common to this rather large group is that they are all Christians. The Left Behind book and film series by Dr. Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins zeroes in on this very point. It is the convincing witness of true Christians who were Raptured that speak volumes to the families of those “left behind”. Therefore, it would not at all be surprising that the largest revival this world has ever experienced could well happen after the Rapture, as multitudes of families realize that their loved ones were indeed taken up to be with Jesus in the air as the word of God so promises. It will truly be a bittersweet revival, as many are saved but will have to endure and most likely perish during the Tribulation.
L.A. Marzulli also has done extensive research and study into the reality of UFOs and other manifestations thereof. He believes exactly as Dr. Vallee does in regard to a soon coming delusion that will be “too horrible event to imagine as yet”. It is not within the context of this chapter or book to delve deeply into these areas. However, it is important for you to recognize and attempt to make some sense of these possibilities and manifestations. I include an excerpt from L.A. Marzulli’s book, Politics, Prophecy and the Supernatural as an added confirmation to Dr. Jacques Vallee four point contention on the “UFO Delusion?” as given above. I would recommend that you study this further as a warning given in 1 Thess 2: 9, “The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders". Please note that this scripture warns all its readers that “all kinds” of supernatural events will foreshadow the coming and presence of the antichrist. And the scripture warns the reader that these signs can take place within the season of the coming of antichrist, not just when he is in position performing his dastardly deeds during the Tribulation.
“While some researchers separate the phenomena of crop circles and cattle mutilations, I propose that they may be caused by the same agency - that of UFOs (fallen angels) masquerading as aliens. I make this assertion because these phenomena are very deliberate and demonstrate that the entity behind the crop circles and cattle mutilations has control over our skies and could take from us what it wants, anytime it wants. Furthermore, if these phenomena where something conventional, why then could not law-enforcement and ranchers stop them? In short, abducting cattle from someone's range or barnyard is illegal (as is trespassing on someone's croplands). It would be one thing if the cattle were never found again, but the fact that only certain parts are taken, and then the carcass is "returned" in my opinion is diabolically evil. What is the point, unless it is to create fear and suspicion, which it does.”4
The abduction phenomenon has all the signs of, what I would consider to be, Demonic/Luciferic/Satanic activity: fallen angels masquerading as "aliens." By this I mean the taking of women in creating a hybrid race, much like I discussed previously when talking about the Nephilim (see Gen: 6: 1-4). This present-day abduction phenomenon also parallels the Genesis and the Enochian accounts that have been previously discussed. In Genesis the text plainly states "that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair and they took them wives of all which they chose" (Gen 6:2, KJV). From the texts it sounds to me like the sons of God were taking, not asking. One can also project that the endgame might be some sort of "alien" human hybrid. After all, in the Genesis/Enochian accounts, the union between the fallen angels and humans resulted in the Nephilim. One must ask oneself: are we living in a time when the fallen angels (masquerading as "aliens") have returned and are once again crossbreeding with humans?5
L.A. Marzulli asks a very important and pertinent question. Are we entering a season when “fallen angels (actually demons from Satan’s kingdom) will again make their appearance? Significant scriptural validation to the above hypothesis can be given in agreement with his contention. When Jesus spoke to His disciples on the Mount of Olives describing the day of the Lord, He warned them as well every reader of the scriptures, “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the day before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matt 24: 37-39, NIV). Since Jesus referred the end of days “as it was in the days of Noah”, we must understand why the Lord actually destroyed mankind through the flood with the exception of Noah, his family and the pairing of God’s creation in animals and such. It was due to the rampant evil that existed as a result of the Nephilim initially reproducing with earthly flesh, but also with results: hybrid Nephilim/human progeny. Therefore, when we consider the coming and final appearance of the Antichrist (described as the lawless one by Paul the Apostle), “with all power and signs and lying (deceptive) wonder”, the possibility of the return of the fallen angels during our time can certainly happen again as has been confirmed previously with the appearance of the Nephilim.
L. A. Marzulli reports that he read a book written by Bob Kaminski, titled Lying Wonders. What amazed L.A. is that Mr. Kaminski arrived at the same conclusions regarding UFOs as he did, and there was no collusion between the two as he states. Here is an excerpt from Lying Wonders…..
“Suppose an evil alien command (forces on high) developed a significant plan of deception for earth. The plan was introduced to certain elect leaders of the world. Let’s also say that aliens came in the magnificent space ships and landed at a base where they were anticipated. Upon landing they met in secret with military and civilian leaders. One of the civilian leaders was a prominent representative of a large Christian denomination. During the course of the meeting, the earth leaders were shown many spectacular wonders. One being a holographic representation of Jesus being crucified and dying on the cross. The aliens, demonstrating their intellectual and technological marvels (powers) were able to convincingly suggest to the earth’s leaders (including the prominent church leader) that it was the alien hierarchy that brought man to this world. They alone invented God and religion to control man’s development, environment and destiny – that it was the aliens (actually fallen angels, i.e. demons) themselves who invented and inspired the Bible. Jesus was their invention and it was all a ploy to keep mankind under their managed care (something like an HMO, only a lot bigger).6
Incredibly, Prophecy in the News reported in the February 2010 issue a news release filed by Ariel David on Nov. 10, 2009 in the Associated Press:
Bob Kaminski’s fictional scenario regarding a representative of a large Christian denomination perfectly fits with this AP report. Sadly, what is frightening is that someday in the future such an event may not be fictional.
Filer’s Files is a weekly compilation of UFO sightings from around the globe. The average weekly count is a little over 190 sightings, which translates to somewhat over 10,000 sightings yearly. This web-site may be viewed at www.NationalUFOCenter.com for your further review. 8
Interestingly, in the sounding of the fifth trumpet by the angel of God as described in Rev. 9: 1-11 ( given on the right), we have a description of God allowing the release of demonic spirits that inflict torment upon all those on the earth that did not have the seal of God on their foreheads for a period of five months. I share this scripture specifically as proof that during the Tribulation, God’s wrath on unregenerate mankind specifically employs the use of demonic spirits. John the Apostle gives a detailed description of the appearance of these demonic agents, which gives the reader an understanding that these “beings” are not from earthly origin, much like the “alien” abductions and their possible arrival to earth. For that matter, it is even possible that the Antichrist may be of unearthly origin as well. Certainly spiritually he is.
Finally, I have personally encountered numerous individuals who believe in advanced life forms that live outside our planetary system. In speaking to them about Jesus, I often get the comment that these aliens are so far advanced, that they possibly created us just to be “their” experiment. Their proof are the numerous UFO sightings that have been seen and documented yet are not owed up to by our government (make sure to view your free web-book on the internet where numerous YouTube videos are presented to correlate these claims). Most believe that in the near future, these aliens (many call them “watchers”) will finally reveal themselves as they come to save earth from its eventual destiny of destruction. Since most non-believers don’t believe in Jesus, they don’t believe in Satan and his kingdom. If you mention that "these aliens" are masquerading as demonic beings as part of the Lucifer’s endtime plan of world domination, they laugh and scoff at such a notion. What is so frightening about these conversations is that these people actually believe this, and that I’m the lunatic believing in some farfetched bible story! If the Rapture were to happen immediately prior to the appearance of these “watchers”, you can be assured that they will take credit for ridding the earth of such an intolerant group of bigots. Truly, what perfect timing and satanic validation for the antichrist’s appearance.
However, as seemingly farfetched and bizarre this entire concept is for most rational and educated people, L.A. Marzulli sums it up very well for both Christians and non-believers alike….
I can agree with L.A Marzulli if the above noted scenario transpires as he suggests. Although I personally believe we, the Church, will be taken out of the way by way of the Rapture before such an event takes place, we still need to ever sober and vigilant in our walk and faith. It is only in Him that we can find protection and the ability to walk out these perilous times we live in. The operative scripture that we need to truly rely on is spoken by Jesus with an admonition from Jesus that will help us to keep our heads up and await for His promise of our "Blessed Hope".
