Earlier in the week I had heard someone speak about the Rapture who gave different viewpoints regarding it. Some believe it will occur right before the Tribulation (thereby believing in Pre-tribulation), some right in the middle-exactly when the Antichrist will desecrate the rebuilt 3rd Temple in the 3.5 years from the time Tribulation begins (thereby believing in Mid-tribulation) and some believe it will happen when Jesus comes to earth as Messiah (thereby believing in Post-tribulation). Being somewhat confused and very much wanting to know the truth about this doctrinal issue, I asked the Lord to answer my confusion regarding these two questions: does the Rapture truly exist and when will it occur?
On New Year’s eve, I was caught with the flu and went to bed early in the evening. I slept unfitly and woke up at 2:00 A.M. at night. Wide awake, I went to the living room to read the Bible. I sensed the Lord wanted me to close my eyes and just randomly open the Bible. As I did, I immediately came to Thessalonians 4: 13-18. As I turned exactly to the scriptures regarding the answer to my questions, I felt this was a confirmation to me that the Rapture does exist and that it will occur at any time before the middle of Daniel’s 7 years, when the Antichrist will come into the Temple as given in Revelation 11:2 and 3:5. Since that time, I have come to believe that the Rapture will occur before the advent of Great Tribulation through the words of Paul spoken to the church at Thessalonica, “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he (identified as the Holy Spirit and Church) who now restrains will do so until he is take out of the way (this would mean the administration of the church and Holy Spirit). And then that lawless one (the Antichrist) will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming.” 2 Thess. 2: 7,8
