ing of Great Tribulation, which comes 3-1/2 years after the beginning of Tribulation. This period will be marked by the appearance of the Antichrist when he enters to reign in the rebuilt 3rd Temple in Jerusalem for the remaining 3-1/2 years that constitute the 7 year period of Tribulation. We are reminded that Paul the Apostle tells the church in Thessalonica (Greece) regarding the gathering unto the Lord Jesus Christ As Lot and his family where taken out of Sodom and Gomorrah before God destroyed these two cities, it would only be logical that God would spare His children from worst destruction this world will ever experience during Tribulation. This “taking out” is made possible by the Rapture, when Jesus will come to retrieve all the dead and living in Christ in the twinlding of an eye (see 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 for proof).
Few people truly understand the dire conditions which will prevail upon the world during Tribulation. As one reads Revelation and begins to grasp the enormity of that which will befall mankind and earth, every single person should desire to want to be a Christian prior to its beginning so they can be spared the wrath of God’s hot fierce anger by being Raptured. The events that will constitute Tribulation will be so horrendous, so terrible, that it will make any past war look like a picnic. Let us look into the prophetic words given in Revelation that will make this period the most horrible and apocalyptic era in the history of mankind.
As stated before, the Tribulation period is that seven year period when God’s wrath and judgment is unleashed upon mankind as never before. This judgment is comprised of many catastrophic events seen in the seven seals, the seven trumpets and seven bowels. Each will be described in this chapter.
The Seven Seals of Judgment
The beginning of God’s wrath upon mankind begins with the opening of the seven seals of judgment by Jesus Christ Himself. The following scripture on the right notes this.
The actual breaking of the first seal by Jesus allows Tribulation to commence. The seven seals signify the basic sorrows that will prevail over earth for the entire 7 year period. The seals are described as follows...
This first seal refers to the emergence of the Antichrist who is represented as a king by the crown. The Antichrist becomes a powerful world figure, in the manner of a dictator in order to conquer. He is seen in Daniel’s vision as the little horn that becomes head of the 10 nation/region confederacy that later overthrows three nations that constitute it. Generally, he will have the power to control, direct and subjugate nations by great charisma, intrigue, deception and satanic power. The Antichrist will initially reveal himself as a world peacemaker by working out a false peace treaty with Israel (see Daniel 9:27), potentially in the war against Gog as described in Ezekiel 38. Many scholars believe that this will be the event which begins Tribulation. It is noted, however, that after 3-1/2 years he will break this treaty when he establishes his throne in the rebuilt third temple as the false christ, the final antichrist, the abomination of desolations as spoken of by Daniel the prophet.
Under the second seal the whole world will eventually enter into a period of war. All wars will finally culminate in the war of all wars, the battle at Armageddon. Although Antichrist appears as a peacemaker, wars and unrest will earmark the whole 7 years of Tribulation.
This seal refers to the rising prices of goods which will be caused by famine (see fourth seal). Because it is said that a quart of wheat and three quarts of barley will cost a denarius (a Roman coin that equaled a days wage during the time of Christ) the cost of food commodities will rise to a level where one will have to work a day just to supply a days worth of food. No doubt, a rationing system will be put in place ultimately controlled by the antichrist economic system resulting in further subjugation.
This scripture states that authority was given to kill over 1/4 of the worlds population by elements of war, famine, pestilences and wild beasts. Based on today’s world population of 5 billion people, 1.25 billion people will die as a result of the fourth seal. We have already previously discussed in Chapter I that present trends project the fulfillment of this scripture within the decade. The fulfillment of Rev. 6:8 proves the God of the Bible as the only omnescient Being capable of predicting future events. The fulfillment of this scripture should have all of us on their knees seeking salvation from the only One who can offer salvation, that is Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior of all.
These are the saints who are martyred because of persecution during the Tribulation. As the Apostle John saw the souls of his fellow servants under the alter of God, he heard them cry out, “How long, 0 Lord, holy and true, wilt Thou refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on earth?” (Rev. 6:10). This very question posed by John identifies these believers specifically as Tribulation saints. This is because they ask for vengeance and judgment against those who have killed them. Jesus, during the Church Age (i.e., Age of Grace), admonished all Christians to pray for their enemies and give their enemies the other cheek if they were struck, not to ask nor seek vengeance! Since the dispensation of the Law returns during Tribulation, the breaking of any Mosaic and/or Levitical law is now punishable under the law of Moses. Therefore, if one man kills another, he can be put to death as given in Leviticus 24:17.
This seal describes a great earthquake that will cause every mountain and island to be moved. Scientists have shown how earthquake activity is a result of tectonic plate movements of the earth. Therefore, it is very plausible for one extremely large earthquake to be caused by a massive movement of the earth’s continental plates. Recall in the chapter "Signs of the Times" we mentioned the largest earthquake ever recorded (as measured by the Richter Scale) was the Chilean earthquake of 1960, with a 9.5 Richter scale reading that caused a phenomenon known as the free oscillation of the earth. So strong was this earthquake, seismic waves traveled around the planet for days after the initial shock. With the 10x exponential increase in power and therefore devastation seen with each whole number increase, an earthquake reading at 10.5 could move every mountain and island from its original position.
The cloaking of the sun and the coloring of the moon could be an indication of oil wells burning (as occurred during Desert Storm), volcanic ash through eruptions, worldwide fires and nuclear fallout (i.e. nuclear winter) - all which could darken the skies. Falling stars could refer to the missiles of war entering the earth’s atmosphere. Throughout this entire apocalypse, mankind will constantly desire to seek shelter from the wrath of God from whom they cannot hide. It is apparent from this scripture that those remaining on earth will fully understand that God is the author of this wrath as the scripture so states. All throughout Tribulation, God hopes man will repent from his ways and accept the forgiveness of sin and rebellion that Jesus died on the Cross for. This is borne out in Rev. 9: 20 and 21, which speaks specifically of mankind who will not repent because of hardness of heart.
This is a very significant declaration, for time does not exist in heaven as it is eternal. I believe this silence occurs due to the fullness of God’s wrath that will have to be invoked upon the earth during the worst part of Tribulation, which is the Great Tribulation. Before a complete and total apocalypse of mankind and earth occurs, God, the very creator of mankind and earth, must be in a deep state of sorrow for what must ultimately be fulfilled. It is understood in the scriptures that God finds invoking His wrath and vengeance strange and foreign to Him. Knowing this, it must extremely difficult for a normally loving God to invoke such severe judgments. The breaking of the 7th seal brings forth the 7 trumpet judgments, which are all contained in the 7th seal, to be discussed in the next section.
Returning to Chapter 24 in the gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells His disciples about the signs of the end of the age. We can see how the opening of the seals will allow the following to occur. Many believe these verses specifically apply to the end of the age. Jesus mentions two specific and separate instances that refer to it. The first refers to the individual who endures to the end. Indeed, this is how people will be saved in the time of Tribulation. The person shall not only have to believe in Jesus as any normal believer would to today but will also have to endure all odds that death will not prevail against you as will be common during Tribulation. For example, you will have to overcome the afifictions of famine, nuclear and conventional war, plagues, lawlessness, radiation sickness, pestilence’s, injury, and finally, all the hardships involved in rejecting the “mark of the beast”. The second instance that refers to the end of the age involves the preaching of the gospel throughout the entire earth. The preaching of the gospel throughout the whole world did not take place during the time of Jesus, when all of Israel was devastated and destroyed by the Roman armies, thereby leading to the Diaspora. Only today, for the first time in history, in this (our) generation are we close to seeing the gospel being preached throughout the entire world. In fact, through short wave radio and sateffite television, the Gospel is capable of reaching all humanity upon earth this day.
There are also those who believe that the Tribulation will not begin until the entire gospel is preached to every person in the world. This thinking is incorrect. Chapter 7 of Revelation prophesies the raising of 144,000 Jewish believers in Jesus Christ, 12,000 believers from each tribe of Israel, who will go throughout the whole world to witness for Jesus in the first half of the Tribulation. The two Jewish prophets, predicted to be Elijah and Moses or Enoch, will give testimony about Jesus and perform great signs and wonders. Also, Tribulation believers will preach the Gospel in much the same way it is being preached today. Lastly and most important, an angel described in Rev. 14:6 (see right) will preach the gospel for the last time to all who have not heard. Thus, the Gospel shall be preached througout the entire earth and then the end shall come as Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24: 14
Although we are seeing this world evangelized as never before, it is reported 2.8 billion people have yet not heard the gospel, most of these falling within the 10-40 window, which covers the latitudes (10° N. and 40° S. of the earth) and contain 90% of the earth’s population. It could well take another century for the remaining 2.8 billion people to be reached. Based on events fulfilled, it is doubtful, that the Lord will tarry another century. If this were so and the church would be responsible for preaching the Gospel to all the world before the return of Jesus, then Rev 14: 7 would not be needed to be fulfilled therefore making it invalid.
This will be the last evangelistic call made to mankind during Great Tribulation. By this time, most of the remaining population will have made their choice in whom they would align themselves to, God or Satan. The angelic visitation described in Rev. 14: 6,7 should not come as a surprise this day, for there are reports coming from various parts of the world that speak of angelic visitations occurring regularly. It has been reported that incredible visions and supernatural dreams are being experienced by many hard to witness groups such as the Moslems and Hindi, leading many to Jesus this day. For example, during the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca in 1991, a number of Nigerian mullahs (holy men) were praying inside the Grand Mosque when Jesus appeared and declared that He was God. They immediately coverted to Christianity.’
Mark of the Beast
Another angel follows and warns all those remaining on earth that if they worship the beast (Antichrist) and receive a mark on their forehead or hand, the full wrath of God shall come upon them. This scripture warns that if anyone were to take the mark of the beast, the name or number of his name, they shall be destined to the wrath of God, which ultimately leads to Hell. See Revelation 14: 9-11 on the right.
This is a sober warning to all who will miss the Rapture. You must not take on the “mark” of the beast in any form or fashion. Whether through tattoo, microchip implantation, invisible bar¬code branding or any other means, for those who take on the “mark” will be destined to Hell.
Most believers-witnesses will die for the sake of the Gospel during the Great Tribulation, as revealed in Rev. 7: 13 -17. As the Apostle John sees numerous individuals in white robes before him, an angel standing next to John asks him who the individuals in white robes were. John replies, “My lord, you know (speaking to the angel).” The angel answers John, “These are the ones who come out of the Great Tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Here again, we have scriptural proof that there are a special group of martyrs who will be known as the Tribulation saints.
It should be known that the Jehovah Witnesses believe that the 144,000 Jewish-witnesses sealed by God as referred to in Chapter 7 in Revelation are a select group of their own people who will reign with Christ in heaven for 1,000 years during the Millenium and, further, that only these 144,000 will have a resurrection to heaven. They believe only those who have worked hard enough, were found righteous enough and religious enough would be allowed this privilege, If this were true, the the majority of Jehovah Witnesses and everyone else, including all Christians, would be excluded from heaven. Not only is this a blatant lie, but it denies the atonement that Jesus so dearly paid for through His death on the Cross. Again, recognizing that the atonement is the final work of Jesus for salvation to all, the ticket to eternal bliss in the one heaven God created can be attained just by believing and accepting Jesus into your heart. For no amount of work, guilt, false doctrine, penitence or churchanity will get you into the kingdom of God, because all are saved by faith and Grace. This belief structure is an example of the Jehovah Witnesse's false religion to others that if you work hard enough, believe hard enough and are perfect enough, you just might make it into the kingdom of heaven. Only if you are fortunate enough to be one of the 144,000 that is. It should be evident that this is but a blatant lie and the salesmanship of a false religion. It totally rejects the completed work of Jesus, offering salvation and eternal resurrection TO ALL who will simply believe in Him.
The Seven Trumpets of Judgment
Now we will review the meaning of the seven Trumpet judgments, which are part of the last Seal judgment (the seven trumpets of judgment are contained in the last seventh Seal judgment).
This scripture tells us of tremendous fire falling upon the earth. Note that one third of the earth will be consumed whereby entire cities may become but ash (remember Sodom and Gomorrah). Also, one third of the trees and grass will be burned. This certainly is not impossible since the year of 1988, the entire nation of America suffered one of the greatest droughts since the Dust Bowl era, which occurred in the early 1900’s. Recently, parts of the west, especially California, have experienced droughts whereupon millions and millions of acres have succumbed to major forest fires. However, the first Trumpet judgment will make the California forest fires we have witnessed in the past seem minor.
It is noted in Revelation 11: 6 that one of the two prophets, believed to be Elijah, will stop the rain from falling for 3-1/2 years. Certainly such a drought would only add fuel to a fire. However, even areas that receive plenty of rain may yet be afflicted by fire since Elijah saw the fire he commanded to come down from heaven consume water in a trench as given in 1 Kings 18:38. Again, this is a witness to all the world the power that God has and will execute in His wrath.
A great mountain burning with fire could only refer to the explosion of an atomic bomb, especially a hydrogen bomb. John, not having any notion what an exploding hydrogen bomb would look like could only explain the size of such a fireball as a mountain, which in fact is a very accurate description of an exploding hydrogen bomb. The blast diameter for a 5 megaton (equivalent 5 million pounds of TNT) bomb is approxiniately 25 miles. Both America and Russia have up to 50 megaton nuclear warheads ready to rain destruction upon this world as never before. Certainly such a number of bombs could easily destroy one third of the world’s ships in a sea such as the Mediterrain. The Mediterrain is often referred to as the sea where the acts of God in Revelation take place. However, this scripture could refer to all oceans and seas of the world since all the nations have a sufficient amount of nuclear weapons to kill this earth ten times over.
The fallout from the explosion of multiple warheads could easily contaminate the ocean and kill practically all sea-life. Even today we see pollution in the making as the deterioration of the nuclear reactor core and fuel cells of a sunken Russian nuclear submarine off the coast of Norway destines to affect sea life in the North Sea. Therefore, it easy to see that large scale radioactive contamination of the world’s oceans during Tribulation could easily cause an imbalance in the feeding chain and cycle of ocean life, leading to devastathg consequences.
Another possibility to interpreting the "great mountain burning with fire" is the impact of a large meteor, asteroid, comet or even small planet upon our earth. Although astronomers have thus far not given notice of such a planetary event to occur, we find it quite unusual that there are those who speak of "Planet X", a small planetary object that is predicted to impact earth, possibly in the year 2012 (read about this in the chapter "The 2012 Mystery"). Last but not least, since God is the creator of our cosmos, He can easily create any planetary object of His choice and have it fulfil the 2nd Trumpet Judgment.
Regarding the turning of the sea into blood, God used Moses to command the waters of the Nile River in Egypt to turn to blood as given in Exodus 7:20. Because of this precedence, we know that God can and at His will turn one third of the sea into blood, however He chooses to do it.
A great star from heaven perfectly fits the description of a missile burning upon entering the atmosphere because of atmospheric friction. The name of this star, called Wormwood, literally means bitter. In 1987, the worst nuclear accident to date occurred in Chenobyl, Russia. Interestingly, the Russian word “Chernobyl” means ‘Wormwood”. As a historic fact, radiation fallout was measured as far as Sweden and along the Eastern European countries. Today, the area between Chernobyl and Kiev is a veritable nuclear wasteland. The total number of Russians affected by radiation poisoning is still unknown due to secrecy regarding this most embarrassing incident.
The greatest danger regarding radioactive fallout is its incredibly long half-life. For example, plutonium has a half-life of 24,000 years, which means it will still be 1/2 as radioactive as it was 24,000 years earlier. Such fallout will so severely pollute one third of the rivers and streams that death will surely occur to any who drink it. The only safe drinking water available at that time may possibly be found in deep wells that are supplied by underground aquifers. This underground aquifer system explains how some people will be able to survive the period of Tribulation until the end.
Of course, this "great star, burning like a torch" could again refer to a planetary object impacting our earth and causing destruction beyond our imagination. Since such an event has never been recorded in human history, we have no actual evidence available to compare the consequences of such an event. Nonetheless, there no question it would be truly catastrophic.
In the fourth trumpet judgment, it appears that a literal darkening of the sun, moon and cosmos occurs. We have seen examples of this even today. During Desert Storm, Saddem Hussein ordered all the oil well-heads to be destroyed and set on fire during his retreat from Kuwait. It was reported that there were days when the sun, moon and stars could not be seen because of all the smoke produced by the burning of the oil wells. Also, when Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines spewed forth smoke and ash, it became so thick that daytime appeared as though ft were nighttime. This scripture can be fulfilled in a similar fashion during Tribulation. With the addition of nuclear fallout, long term cloaking of the sun, moon and stars could easily take place thereby producing the condition known as a nuclear winter.
The last three Trumpet judgments are truly the pouring out of God’s wrath upon mankind as never before. I believe they will be executed during the last 3-1/2 years of Tribulation, otherwise known as Great Tribulation. So terrible and torturous are these outpourings, that an eagle cries out in a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!” (Rev. 8:13). Conditions will be so horrible and painful, mankind will desire to seek death but not find it (Rev. 9: 6). Many of the judgments thus far have been in part carried out by man (i.e. war, economic hardships, etc.). But in the Trumpet judgments, God is showing the world that it is not man, but He alone that is causing all the earth to experience His final catastrophic judgments. At that time, whoever then is familiar with Revelation will know that this is but a fulfillment of prophecy.
Although the symbolism used in the last three Trumpet judgments is somewhat mysterious, Jesus tells us that this period will be so horrible that, “For then there will be a Great Tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning the world until now, nor ever shall be. And unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days shall be cut short.” (Matthew 24: 21 & 22). The days actually will have to be cut short so that some human life will survive during this time. Let us now look at the remaining woes that constitute the last three Trumpet judgments and are as severe as any previous judgment, whereby no man can fully understand or envision the severity thereof.
This judgment is the unleashing of Satanic demon forces from hell, typically referred to in the Bible as ‘the plague’. Similar to actual locusts, these demonic forces will come as a swarm (rushing army). Unlike real locusts, they will not come to devour the grass and trees, but plague man himself. Like a scorpion’s sting, these forces will cause great pain. As a prisoner of war who is being tortured by his captors, man shall not be able to die and thereby escape this torture for a total of five months. The driving force behind this woe are demonic spiritual forces that come to torment man, torment being a chief characteristic of Satan. It should be noted that only those who are sealed by God will not be attacked by these demon swarms. Therefore, the 144,000 Jewish witnessess will be able to continue evangelizing without feeling the effects of this severe affliction.
During the onset of the first woe, Chapter 11 of Revelation describes the supernatural ministry of two prophets. Their 1,260 days of ministry will demonstrate the power of God as they prophesy while the holy city, Jerusalem, will be tread under foot by the Gentiles for 3.5 years during the Great Tribulation. They will have power to withhold the rain, turn water into blood, smite the earth with plagues and have fire come out of their mouths to devour their enemies. Their ministry will be of tremendous support to the 144,000 Jewish witnesses during the time they evangelize earth. Most scholars believe that one of the two prophets will be Elijah because of the power given to withhold rain for 3-1/2 years. Elijah had this same power when he reigned on earth. It is believed that the second witness will wither be Moses or Enoch. As you my recall, Enoch, like Elijah, was Raptured to heaven and therefore did not die a natural death. Some believe this is required to fulfill Hebrews 9:27. Others believe the second prophet could be Moses, as Moses and Elijah appeared together with Jesus during the Transfiguration (Matt. 17:1-13). The Transfiguration event is thought to be a foreshadowing of the coming of the Messiah with the two patriarchs, Moses and Elijah.
The two witnesses are killed after their 3’/2 years of ministry and are left dead on the streets of the great city Jerusalem for 3’/2 days. We know this great city, mystically called Sodom and Egypt, to be Jerusalem since it is stated their Lord Jesus was crucified there. After 3-1/2 days, they are raised from the dead in the midst of the people and then are immediately called up to heaven. In that hour, a great earthquake occurs with a tenth of Jerusalem being destroyed and 7,000 people killed.
The Meaning of the Manchild
This scripture refers specifically to the nation of Israel, Jesus and the 144,000 Jewish Tribulation witnesses. Initially, a woman is pictured giving birth to a man-child. The original Greek rendering of the term “man-child” translates to mean man. Many have mistaken the woman mentioned in this chapter as the virgin Mary. This cannot be accurate because the first verse describes the woman as having unique characteristics such as being clothed with the sun, having the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 stars upon her head. Nowhere is this description found of Mary in the New Testament. However, a similar symbol is found in the book of Genesis when Joseph, the son of Jacob, has a dream. As Joseph relates his dreams to his father and brothers, he states, “Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” (Gen. 37:9). In this dream the sun and moon represent Joseph’s parents and the eleven stars his eleven brothers. Joseph, with his brothers, constitute the original twelve tribes of Israel. The twelve tribes mentioned in Genesis are the twelve stars mentioned in Revelation with the exception of the tribe of Dan, who was replaced by the tribe of Mannasseh, Joseph’s son. Just as Joseph’s family bowed down before Joseph so too will the twelve tribes of Israel bow down before Jesus the Messiah. Because Israel is the center of the earth as given in Ezekiel 5:5 (“Thus says the Lord God, ‘This is Jerusalem; I have set her at the center of the nations, with lands around her.”), the dream Joseph had refers to the seed of Jacob, whose name was changed by God to Israel. Therefore, the nation of Israel is being referred to, not Mary. Also, all throughout the Bible, the daughter of Mt. Zion (the mountain of God) refers to the nation of Israel, not Mary. It is also from the 12 tribes of Israel that the 144,000 witnesses will come forth during the Tribulation. Again we find that instead of following the commandment given by Jesus in the Gospels that Christians pray for their enemies, turn the other cheek when struck, give both coats when only asked for one and walk two miles instead of just one, the souls of the Tribulation slain saints ask how long will the Lord refrain from judging and avenging their blood (see Rev. 6: 10). It is obvious these believers are operating under the Mosaic law of “an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth.” Most Tribulation believers will be persecuted as pointed out in Rev. 12: 17, “and the dragon (symbol for Satan), was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.”
Here we see that God’s fury of fire, smoke and brimstone will directly destroy a third of mankind. This represents about 1.8 billion people by today’s population and does not even take into consideration the deaths of others by God’s previous judgments. It is apparent based on the percentages thus far given, at least one-half of the earth’s population will die because of the Tribulation.
By the scripture given in verse 15, we are specifically told that this judgment will occur on a specific date and hour, thereby referring to earthly time. We are told of a 200 million man army that ultimately heads to the valley of Megiddo, Israel - a large fertile valley about 70 miles north of Jerusalem between the Dead Sea and Sea of Galilee - best known as Armageddon where the last great battle on earth before the return of the Messiah. In the vision, John sees, “heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone.” Could this possibly refer to thousands of tanks spewing out volleys of fire as their shells are being hurled to their targets? It’s not a coincidence that the primary fighting machine of choice in desert warfare is the tank.
This would mark the first time in the Revelation that John is given the reason for God’s fury and wrath. This judgment is specifically unleashed upon unregenerate man who has not repented of his worship of false gods and the committing of sorcery, immorality, murders and thefts. Common false gods include but are not limited to; love of money, Buddha, love of self, the Hindu idol Shiva, Mohammed (the prophet of Islam), and all other forms of worship that exalts itself over the one and only true God. Incidentally, one may ask why God would unleash such wrath and fury during Tribulation and not act similarly today? The answer to this question can be found in 2 Peter 3:9,10 which can be read to the right.
So, it is the long-suffering nature of our God that holds back His hand from consuming us this present day as His word so states. Therefore, the Lord in the present dispensation of Grace is being a provider of incredible mercy and grace considering all the wickedness we see happening upon earth this very day. He continues to withhold His might hand from all consumming judgment in hope that all mankind will repent from their evil and wicked ways. Yet, God has an appointed time for all things (Eccl. 3:1). Peter says this abundant grace will suddenly come to an end when, “By His word, the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. “as given in 2 Peter 3: 7. We need to believe this.
In the last Trumpet judgment we see great storms of lightening, hail and an earthquake. Upon hearing the judgment, John states that he heard 7 peals of thunder as though they were spoken. He was about to write them down but the angel of the 7th Trumpet specifically tells him not to. All of this is occurring in context of the day of the Lord’s coming.
Chapter 13 specifically speaks about the Antichrist. He will come into Jerusalem and cease the Temple services from going forth as stated in Daniel 12: 12, “And from the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished, and the abomination of desolation is set up there will be 1,290 days.” The Antichrist will be a man, will recover from a fatal sword wound to the head and in all likelihood be Jewish or claim Jewish ancestry. This can only be so, for he would never be able to enter the Temple and be accepted as Christ, albeit false, by the religious leaders unless he were Jewish or could prove absolute Jewish descent. Also, Daniel 11: 37 and 38 identifies him as a man who shows no desire for woman, indicating he may possibly be homosexual. Nor will he show regards to the gods of his fathers or have regard for any god, except for himself, for he will magnify himself as the most high. Instead he will honor a god of forces, a god whom his father did not know. This infers that in all likelihood he will be a New Age believer which is very possible as seen in the likes of the late Rabbi Kurdi, who was one of the premier New Age Kabbalistic rabbis of this generation as mentioned in chapter V. Again, the foundational basis of this theology is that you believe that you can be a "god". A very sad note is made in Revelation 13: 8, indicating the incredible deception the false Christ will have over man which can be read to the right.
It must be understood that the power of the Antichrist will come from Satan, symbolically referred to as a dragon. We note in Chapter 13 that another beast comes on the scene to give glory and power to the first beast, identified as a man in Rev. 13: 18, who is the Antichrist. This second beast is often referred to as the false prophet, acting like a false Elijah in that he is able to bring down fire from heaven just as Elijah did in Old Testament days. it is for this reason the false prophet will be able to deceive so many on the earth because of the power given him. With such demonic power, he will be able to cause an image of the beast identified by Jesus as the abomination of desolation (possibly a statute, no doubt an idol) to speak and cause all those who do not worship the image to be killed. When the false prophet is mistakenly identified as Elijah, many will believe the Antichrist to be Messiah. This is key to the great deception which will bring practically all mankind to worship the "beast". Orthodox Judaism teaches that the arrival of Elijah will herald the arrival of the Messiah, as represented by the cup of Elijah that is present in the Passover dinner celebrated once a year as the Seder. From this, the deception will be great, as Jesus warns His disciples in Matt 24: 23-26.
Because they refuse to receive the Messiah who already has come, they logically will not be aware of the prophetic scriptures pointing to the Antichrist and false prophet. Jews and non-Jews alike will be deceived by the many signs and wonders that the false prophet despite the warning Jesus has given in the New Testament.
The Seven Bowls (or Vials) of Judgment
The vials (as referred to in the King James Version) or bowl (as referred to in other Bible
versions) judgments constitute the last judgments upon mankind and earth. They are specific to the end of Great Tribulation as the Greek word “teleo” means to complete or bring to an end.
The first bowl causes a plague of sores to come upon all who take on the mark of the beast and worship his image. It is interesting to note that during the time when Moses was pronouncing plagues upon Pharaoh in order to persuade him to let the Israelites go, the sixth plague was one that brought boils out upon men (Exodus 9:9). Whether these sores are as boils cannot be determined at this time. Nonetheless, as it happened in Egypt, so to will it happen throughout the world to those who take on the mark of the beast and worship his image. Incidently, testing has shown that lithium injected underneath the skin will actually produce "boil-like" sores. Is it possible that minature lithium batteries used in the implantable micro-biochip will fail and leak? Certainly God has the power to supernaturally explode each lithium cell thereby causing such sores.
The second bowl judgment has the angel pouring the bowl of God's dreadful wrath upon the sea and when he does so, it becomes as the blood of a dead man with everything in the sea dying. This refers to sea water that will take on the appearance of blood. The sea here perhaps refers to the Mediterranean Sea around which the entire focus of end time events take place. Interestingly, we are seeing the increase of a blight commonly known as “Red tide”, an algae bloom that colors the ocean red in sufficient concentrations and kills sea life. Although it usually found near the shores of our oceans, it has been becoming more pervasive on a yearly basis and has even been found in large concentrations away from shorelines.
The third bowl judgment is poured out into the rivers and springs of water by the angel and is turned to blood. The judgment is, according to Rev. 16:6, in response to the shed blood of all the martyred saints and prophets. This scripture is a literal changing of water into true and real blood. At this late stage of God's wrath upon the world, we are seeing more of HIs supernatural judgments taking precedence. In other words, in the early stages of Tribulation, there were many catastrophic events that were both man and God induced. However, as we near the end of Tribulation, the supernatural judgments of God will become the over-riding means of how calamities occur leaving little doubt that God is the author of such events. He will truly be making Himself known, in a judgmental way.
The fourth bowl judgment causes the sun to scorch men with fierce heat. Today, we may be seeing a small part of this effect taking place by the disappearance of the ozone layer in our atmosphere. During Great Tribulation, the release of this bowl will induce an incredible rise in earth temperature. Because the angel directly pours this bowl on the sun, the sun will physically intensify its radiant heat transmission over earth as never before. Naturally, scientists will be puzzled and have a slew of theories to explain why this is happening, as they do today regarding the depletion of the ozone layer, increased earthquakes and weather disturbances caused by what they believe are "natural" climatic changes. But the fact remains that the only explanation which will adequately describe what is occurring is found in the word of God, specifically Rev. 16: 8,9.
The fifth bowl judgment is poured upon the throne of the Antichrist whose temporary kingdom on this earth becomes grossly darkened. This judgment of added wrath upon Satan’s kingdom will directly effect those who belong to it by increasing their pains and sores. In a last attempt to have man repent from his evil and wicked ways, the Lord is purposely causing man to experience such pain that he will cry out to Him for mercy. Again, we need to look back at Exodus as a type and form of God's judgemental acts upon mankind. Note to the right a compilation of scriptures which came up by searching for the word "boils". In it, we see judgment pronounced upon man who defies God. Although we are not seeing the specific judgement of "boils" being unleashed upon mankind today in this age of Grace, one needs to wonder why there are over 50 sexually transmitted diseases seen today - with the understanding that the afflicted almost always are infected due to illicit sex. However with the 5th Bowl judgment, man’s heart is so hardened, that he not only fails to repent but sadly, also blasphemes God.
The sixth bowl judgment is poured upon the River Euphrates which crosses through Iraq
(passing through Baghdad) drying it up so that the armies from the east will be able to pass over and meet at Armageddon. These eastern kings are led to go to Armageddon under the power of Satan, who uses “miracles” brought forth by unclean spirits that arise out of the mouths of the dragon, beast and false prophet. An indication as to how close we are to this judgment being fulfilled occurred in 1991 during Desert Storm, when the Turkish government partially dried up the Euphrates River. As the Euphrates River was partially dried up for that specific conflict, the Euphrates River will be completely dried up for the battle at Armageddon. Based on this historic event, the execution of this judgment will most likely be accomplished by man under the influence of the Antichrist.
The seventh and last bowl judgment brings great destruction to the earth. From the Temple a loud voice arises from the throne to say, “It is done.” An earthquake will come over the area of Jerusalem and divide the city into three parts. So great and mighty is this earthquake that cities, mountains and islands throughout the world will disappear. From heaven will come 100 pound hallstones to fall upon mankind, a form and type of judgment seen when fire and brimstone was unleashed upon the wicked cities of Sodom and Gemorrah (CLICK HERE to read about it's recent discovery). This will be the greatest outpouring of God’s wrath ever seen in the history of mankind.
The following events are a culmination of God’s wrath and fury and has its completion at the battle of Armageddon. It should be noted that this battle will not be confined to the Valley of Jezreel alone, a large fertile plain in Israel where the town of Megiddo is located from whence the name “Armageddon” comes from, but will extend to and culminate in Jerusalem where the Messiah will enter in through the Eastern Gate of the Temple. Before this happens, the evil world system called Babylon - identified today as the New World Order - will be destroyed by God Almighty. Chapter 17 and 18 are totally devoted to describing this evil world system and its demise. Many believe that Babylon specifically refers to America. Certainly, America has been one of the greatest merchants this final era. Sadly, it also has the unfortunate distinction of being a primary exporter of smut, filth, greed, avarice and domination (through New World Order initiatives such as through Masonry, United Nations, Trilateral Commission, Council of Foreign Relations, Bilderburger Organization, etc.) throughout the world as never before. Additionally, it is active in advancing astrology, psychic phenomena at the same time promoting anti-Christian values, mores and beliefs. Today, rampant decay is crisscrossing America at a level never before seen or experienced. Yet, America is not the only nation where such moral decay is seen or permitted. Many European nations and others have avidly been promoting the same influences and perversions. I personally do not believe that the Babylonian system only pertains to America, but rather, believe it applies to the New World system that effects all nations, especially during the Tribulation. The last scripture in Revelation 18 supports this by referring to the blood of prophets and saints who have been slain throughout the world. Because the scripture mentions the world, it points out that Babylon refers to a world system adopted on an international level.
The Last Sign of the Coming of the Lord
As can be distilled from the above scriptures, the coming of the Lord as the Messiah will be upon a white horse with the saints following Him from heaven to engage in the final battle of Armageddon. The armies who follow Jesus on their white horses to the Battle of Armageddon are all the past believers in Christ, including both the Old and New Testament saints. This can only be so, because all those who are referenced as being clothed with fine linen, white and clean, are the precious saints of Jesus Christ who in no other way could be "clean" unless they were washed by the precious blood of the Lamb, Jesus Himself.
After victory at Armageddon, Jesus will decend upon the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem to defeat the final forces of the Antichrist located there. Once accomplished, Jesus will send His angels forth to collect the remaining saints who are still alive in the world, whom He calls "His elect". Those who are not his elect will be taken out of the world ( a reverse Rapture) by angels and cast into the outer darkness which is todays Hell. The Antichrist, false prophet and all his followers will be thrown into the lake of fire where they will be bound for one thousand years. Jesus will then enter the Eastern Gate of the Temple and all the saints will reign and govern the earth with Christ for the next 1,000 years identified as the Millennium,
These saints will have glorified-resurrected bodies that will be able to alternate between the physical and the spiritual realm just as Jesus did when He came into the Upper Room to meet with the disciple Thomas. All the believers in Jesus who die during the Tribulation are identified as Tribulation saints. Most will die due to injury, illness or execution. Their execution will be by beheading as revealed in Rev. 20: 4 (read to the right). They will be beheaded for three specific reasons: 1.) their testimony of Jesus, 2.) the word of God they maintain, 3.) because they would not accept the mark of the beast nor worship him. Yet, they will be raised and reign with Christ forevermore.
John exclaims in Rev 20: 6, “Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.” Those who comprise this first resurrection constitute the following (each group is resurrected only once but at different times):
1.) Old Testament Saints at Jesus’ resurrection three days following His crucifixion. These Old Testament saints are now in heaven and are only using their spiritual bodies although they have already received their resurrected-glorified bodies.
2.) New Testament saints Raptured prior the Tribulation. This is comprised of two groups: the first who died in Christ prior the Rapture and those who remain at the Rapture.
3.) 144,000 Jewish witnesses (includes the two prophets) sealed by God during Tribulation.
4.) Tribulation saints who died or were killed.
5.) Tribulation saints who are able to make it into the Miflenium and die a natural death.
The Tribulation saints who are alive at Jesus’ coming will be are gathered together by the Lord’s angels and brought to that place where the Lord wifi be, in Jerusalem. These will be the remaining human beings who repopulate earth during the Millenium.
All the wicked assembled at Armageddon against Israel will be killed by the sword of the Spirit, which comes from the mouth of Christ (Rev. 19:2 1). This double-edged sword of the Spirit of God is the word of God. Just as God spoke the universe into existence, so will he speak death to those who are in enmity towards Him by His Word(s).
The wicked who are remaining and alive, those who received the mark of the beast and worshiped him, will be reverse Raptured out of earth to fulfill the prophecy given by Jesus,
All the wicked dead who have died in Satan - either those who died prior or up until the literal coming of Jesus - will be held in an isolated state in what we call hell until the end of the Millennium. This is the first death. The Millennium is the 1,000 year dispensation that finally ushers in the last day (one day is as a thousand years) of God’s Great Sabbath Week on earth for a total of seven thousand years. This last 1,000 year dispensation would correspond to our Sunday, the day of rest in God for earth and all mankind.
Since a Jewish year equals 360 days, the three and one-half years of Great Tribulation lasts 1,260 days. Yet, Daniel 12:11,12 states....
We can calculate from this scripture there are an extra 75 days noted over three and one-half years equaling 1,260 days. The first 30 days are relegated to to cleanse the earth of its pollution and defilement by all the elements that have caused it (i.e. nuclear fallout, pollution, pestilence’s, etc.) while the remaining 45 days will be used to restore/rebuild the Temple and to set up Jesus’ kingship. The first 40 days will specifically relate to the rebuilding, restoring and cleansing of the Temple. As Moses was told to wait upon God for 40 days for the giving of the law (i.e. ten commandments) and the disciples were told to wait 40 days after the resurrection of Jesus for the giving of the Holy Spirit, so to will Jesus be in waiting for the Father to bestow unto Him the kingdom of the entire earth. The last 5 days of the 45 days will be used to set up of Jesus’ kingship. As He was denied His kingly position when He entered Jerusalem 5 days prior to His crucifixion, He will now be given the rightful celebration that was denied Him during His first advent. During this time, He will go through the coronation ceremonies as Hosanna in the highest. Finally, the King of Kings will be anointed with the Holy Anointing Oil (recently discovered by way of the Copper Scroll, part of the Dead Sea Scrolls) that is now awaiting His arrival in Jerusalem. I suspect a great celebration will take place during this time and it may well incorporate the marriage supper of the Lamb to His bride as given in Rev. 19: 9. Jesus will now be the final King of earth, with David given the kingship of Israel as the scriptures so promise. We, His saints, will rule the nations with Him forevermore as given in Rev. 2: 26, “And he who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him will I give authority over nations.”
When the thousand years of the Millennium is nearly completed, Satan is released again for a short while. He will come out again to deceive the nations in a last and final battle, initiated by the nations of Gog and Magog. This might be a replay of the battle between Gog and Israel destined to occur before the advent of Tribulation or the actual battle against Gog and Magog as expressed in Ezekiel 28 (see Chapter 5 for explanation regarding this). For the last time, man will be given the choice to serve either God or Satan. Undoubtedly, this last war destined to occur during the final years of the Millennium will allow the final evil-dwellers on earth to be separated from those who love and are obedient to Christ and His kingship. Although Satan will be bound in his new residence - the lake of fire (which is not hell, Sheol, Gehenna, etc.) - the temptation for sin will be removed for the entire 1,000 years. Yet, man must still choose between the right way or the wrong way, God's way or his way.
At the end of the Millennium, the great white throne judgment of God takes place and will complete the last dispensation on earth before the first heaven and first earth pass away, allowing the kingdom of God as it exists in heaven to finally exist upon a new entity known as the New Jerusalem.reign upon earth. The great white throne judgment of God is specifically meant for unbelievers. God will deliver the verdict of heaven or hell to all unbelievers that have ever lived on the face of the earth based entirely on their deeds as given in the following scripture.
After the great white throne judgment of God, the last day of God’s Great Sabbath Week is completed. Being the last day of the Millennium and at the moment the 8th day or 8,000th year would begin, God creates something completely different as noted below. Glory to God!
After reviewing the evidence and comparing it to the prophetic scriptures contained in the Holy Bible, we find that we are truly in the “last days” of this earth. Furthermore, we fmd that we are just not looking at the fulfillment of one or two prophetic events by coincidence or chance but in reality seeing an abundance of prophetic events being fulfilled to warn mankind that the day of the Lord is at hand. One of most notable signs that point to the return of Jesus Christ is the re-establishment of the nation of IsraeL Without a question of a doubt, this is the very generation that is seeing Israel with its branches not only tender but also becoming laden with leaves.
By reviewing the book of Revelation we also see that John the Apostle was privileged to receive incredible visions of the future as they relate to Daniel's last 70th week (known as the Tribulation). It will be by far the worst period known to mankind. All wars and natural disasters thus far will not come close to the horror, depravity and apocalyptic scale that Tribulation will entail. It is for this reason that the book you are now reading has been written. It is the desire of the Lord, Jesus Christ and myself - as a servant to Him, to make this information as clear and concise to all who have not yet received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. There is absolutely no comparison to the rewards and goodness that will be upon those who receive Him. Jesus has truly made it as easy as possible for you to receive the grace of salvation that God through His Son wishes to offer. He has made ft easy because Jesus has done all the work. Truly, He went to the Cross and voluntarily accepted the penalty of death because of the sins for all mankind. Truly, He has paid the price by His blood for the remission of your sin and mine. Truly, His offer of eternal redemption is so fantastic and easy to receive, that it almost seems too good to be true. This is because Jesus has paid the price, not you or I. He paid it because His heavenly love for you is so much greater than all the love and care that can be expressed in humanity. But, to understand and receive this love and eternal gift, one must not only receive it, but open it as well. ask for ft.
What a momentous and glorious day it will be when all those who have accepted Jesus in their hearts as Lord and Savior will all be caught up to Him in the air. As His people are Raptured away from God’s coming wrath, there will be extreme joy on the one hand. But there will also be extreme sorrow and sadness on the other. This sorrow and sadness will be for those who have decided by their own free will not to accept the love and remission for sin that Jesus has so dearly paid. Instead, they will have to endure the seven most torturous years of their life. By what can we compare this to? Probably the best example I can think of would be the difference between flying first class from New York City to Los Angeles as compared to walking between these two cities in the middle of winter. On the one hand, flying from New York City to Los Angeles will take about 6 hours. After being pampered like a king, eating the best of food, seeing a first rate movie, listening to your favorite stereophonic music, being served hand and foot by a most caring stewardess, being extremely comfortable both physically and psychologically, you arrive at Los Angeles International Airport refreshed as never before and ready to take on the town. On the other hand, imagine having to begin a 2,794 mile walk on a cold and sleet driven night in the middle of winter. The only clothes you have on would be what you would have worn in the comforts of a Boeing 777. Just getting out of New York state takes you the rest of the week because you are not allowed to hitch-hike until you reach the Pennsylvania border. Then, as you begin to hitch-hike, your picked up by a crazed maniac who forces you into his car. As the barrel of a 0.32 caliber gun peers down your eyes, he steals your wallet and personal possessions. Later, you escape as he dozes off on a cat-nap. About four months later, you are halfway between New York and Los Angeles. It’s taken so much longer than you ever expected because of the additional vertical distance (up and down mountains) that you have to cover. The next day you receive word that a nuclear bomb has exploded in Chicago, set off by terrorists. You recall the same thing happened at the World Trade Center a few years ago by fanatical Islamic fundamentalists. At that time you were so thankful it was only a van full of conventional explosives. Yet, you wonder what it would have been like if those Moslem terrorists had set off a nuclear device instead. A chill rolls up your spine as you ponder the consequences about the nuclear fallout that could come from Chicago. As an Arctic cold front is about to sweep down over your area, you wonder how to best avoid the most dangerous non-explosive element of a nuclear blast, that of nuclear fallout. Worse, this does not even take into account the additive effects of two nuclear power reactors also destroyed by the blast, which most were unaware of. Will it be three times worse than Chemobyl? Ten times? There is added urgency to your daily walking, but find you aren’t covering additional ground fast enough. In fact, your covering less ground than ever before. It’s been -10 ‘ during the day and with wind chill, temperatures are as low as -45 °. In temperatures such as these, the only practical thing you can do is hunker down in an abandoned house. At night it's even worse - literally unbearable. The following week, the fallout from Chicago does come down your way and you have no idea the quantity of exposure you were subjected to. You hear that more nuclear devices are exploding throughout the Middle East and war between Israel and the world’s U.N. armed forces is imminent. What’s next?
As you continue on, your covering less ground because of the incredibly cold weather that prevails. Later in the week you start feeling nauseated, your hair begins to fall out and your experiencing a severe case of diarrhea. Classic symptoms of radiation poisoning. You barely have enough energy to cover 5 miles a day. Your are out of food and money. For the first time, you wonder if your going to make it and for the first time, you actually ponder the reality of suicide compared to this tortuous journey you are now on. Is life really worth living for?
The scenario presented is not as unrealistic as it may appear. It considers situations that are possible and events that have already occurred. In fact, many in the most comfortable of lifestyles still often contemplate suicide becuase they have lost the purpose for life. Still, this picture painted here still will not in any way compare to the severity of Tribulation. In the past, man had the luxury of being able to wait and accept Christ as His Savior to the point of physical death, in most cases old age. I believe for the first time, man will have to consider his salvation prior to the worst era to come upon the world. Truly, the time is upon us where.....
